Cleaning and Exams
Your beautiful smile starts with regular dental visits! Depending on your health care coverage, age and health history, the American Dental Association recommends visiting a dentist at least twice a year for a routine oral health check-up to help maintain a healthy, beautiful smile. This will include an X-ray and examination.
Root Canals
Root canals have a bad rap, and many assume it is a long and painful procedure, but that is not the case. With over 15 million performed each year in the US, we are confident that your painful tooth, or possible issues from a previous filling or crown, can be easily resolved by this treatment. Not sure if a root canal is the best option for you? We are happy to offer a second opinion.
Emergency
If you or your child have a dental emergency, call us right away. Emergencies never happen at a convenient time, so we will be there when you need us the most. Don’t wait to call about infections, fractured teeth, bleeding gums or anything in between. We offer the best dental care in the Edmond area, so you and your family will always be in good hands.
Fillings
We want to stop decay dead in its tracks. At Dr. Laura Ballinger Family Dentistry, our experienced staff will determine the best and most comfortable way to address your needs. We will determine what type of filling is best for you, with our most popular, best-looking and long-term fix being the white filling. Our treatment is painless and our fillings last for years.
Gum Treatments
Gum disease can pose a serious threat to your health and it is extremely important to recognize the signs of gum disease early on. If one does not take the time to efficiently eliminate plaque from their teeth, gum disease will begin to develop. Whether it is onset gingivitis or it has evolved to full-on gum disease, our team will be able to quickly identify what stage your gums are in and quickly address the restoration process.
Some symptoms might include:
Bleeding gums
Bright red gums
Tender, swollen or painful gums
Widening spaces between teeth
Painful chewing
Bad breath
Tooth loss
Receding gums
Crowns
When a tooth is broken down and a filling won’t solve the problem, we may recommend a dental crown. Crowns protect and preserve by covering the entire tooth to the gum. At Dr. Laura Ballinger Family Dentistry, we make sure the process is not only comfortable but that the crown looks as if it wasn’t even there. Our custom-made crowns look like your natural teeth. We will restore your tooth back to its original shape, size and color the same day, so you can leave with a smile on your face!
Bridges
Have you lost a tooth or two and want to restore your original smile? Bridging is the way to go. We offer the best option for not only your smile but your overall health and future. Bridging is an alternative to surgery and takes only 2-3 weeks to complete the process involving digital impressions. In some cases, neighboring teeth need some assistance for your dental bridge, so implants or crowns are necessary. Once your new permanent bridge is delivered to Dr. Laura Ballinger Family Dentistry, we will restore your smile back to its original shape, size and color that same day.
Digital Dental X-ray
At Dr. Laura Ballinger Family Dentistry, we use Digital Dental X-rays as a valuable tool to gain insight into the state of your teeth that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Our process is a safe and convenient way to capture detailed digital images of your mouth. It also allows Dr. Laura Ballinger to access your dental records, share them with your insurance company or another provider and compare them to your previous X-rays.
Mouth Guard
Does your jaw or mouth ache whenever you wake up? Our custom-fit mouth guards are a great solution for those who need extra protection to prevent tooth damage and provide an improvement in sleep throughout the night. Unlike over-the-counter mouth guards, our custom-fit guards are molded to your mouth to ensure the perfect fit and will last up to five years. Adults and children with bruxism (teeth grinding), temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders or obstructive sleep apnea will benefit from wearing a custom-fit mouth guard while sleeping.
